You may at this stage want to save your screenshot, if you do not want to edit the background.Ĭhoose the eclipse tool to draw a circle (or oval!) around the picture. ![]() after you have done this zoom out again by clicking view > zoom > zoom out. on this screenshot this was relatively easy, but it isn’t on some of them. the reason this works is because the paintbrush is set as the same colour as the background. Use the paintbrush tool to paint carefully along the edge of the hair. once you have zoomed in you need to select the paintbrush tool.Īdjust the size of the paintbrush by dragging the blue ‘size’ bar. To do this zoom into the photo by clicking view > zoom > zoom in. The area around the head of the sim is not quite a clear line - there is a bit of white around the head which needs to be removed. When filling in the background make sure you get any areas in between arms and legs as well, as the fill background cannot always reach those. this doesn’t always work well on screenshots - your lighting has to be right in game so that your background is one flat colour, so it’s better to get the background right in game. this only works with solid block colours (it looks patch on other things).Īs you can see it has changed the colour of the background. click on the tool then click on the area you want to recolour. Use the bucket fill tool to fill the background. when you have decided your colour click OK. you can change the colour by using the colour line, and you can change how dark/light it is etc. then click foreground and background colours. changing the background colourĬlick select > flatten image - this means you can edit the photo as a whole again after several stages of editing have occurred. You can then skip straight to further editing if you are happy with the background colour, but i would like a slightly darker pink background here. i like to go backwards 2 steps - i don’t like the end product to be quite so sharp so going back 2 steps blurs it slightly. you can keep going backwards until you’re happy with it, or use ctrl + Y to go forwards again. ![]() if you’re not sure about the final product, use ctrl + Z to go backwards a step. The holy batman action makes everything really bright and sharp (using several stages). Now you have installed the holy batman colours action it will appear in the ‘MyScripts’ menu in the top bar. click file > open screenshot to locate your screenshot. Once you are happy with the screenshot, open gimp. it is just taken in game using the built in camera ( check out my tutorial here on using the camera, and doing really basic editing - though it needs updating!)Īs you can see the colour is quite dark, and the shadows make it quite dull, but i’m happy with the placing of the sim.
